Valerie Carozza, BS is the 2021-2022 clinical psychology extern at Kurtz Psychology Consulting P.C. specializing in the treatment of disruptive behavior disorders and anxiety disorders. She earned her B.S. in Applied Psychology at New York University and will be earning her M.S. in School Psychology from Yeshiva University. Valerie is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in School-Clinical Child Psychology at Yeshiva University.
Valerie has received extensive training in evidence-based approaches for children, adolescents, and their families with a wide variety of challenges. Specifically, Valerie has received training in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy & treatment for selective mutism. Valerie is currently undergoing comprehensive supervision and training in providing cognitive behavioral interventions to children and their families.
Valerie has experience providing both individual and group interventions for adolescents with emotion regulation challenges and social skills deficits in a school setting. Additionally, she has effectively consulted with and collaborated with educators regarding student behavior and performance. Valerie also has experience conducting comprehensive psychoeducational assessments for students and providing teachers and parents with relevant feedback. Currently, Valerie is involved in research related to anxiety disorders and OCD, and her doctoral research involves the assessment of selective mutism.
When not in the office, she loves coaching gymnastics, spending time with friends, and spending time outdoors taking walks and hanging on the beach).
